Marketing as a whole.. So you have a business, you’re looking to invest in some marketing efforts, but you don’t know where to start. You pop onto youtube and search “video production for small business” and up pops a million different things. SEO, Facebook ads, Google ads, video production and the list goes on and on. So you find yourself here. VIDEO! Video production for marketing is extremely important. In fact 46% of users act after viewing an ad. That’s crazy… The best part is Viewers retain 95% of a message when they watch it in a video compared to 10% when reading it in text. Not only are consumers more likely to engage with your content, they’re more likely to remember it as well. So now that we know the importance of video production for marketing, let’s jump into how..
The How.. So how do you start? Well that’s easy, just pick up your cell phone and shoot some clips. Iphones come with a built in editor that will automatically place your clips onto a timeline sequence. Select the music and share it on social media. Now that that’s aside, you can focus on the problem at hand. What problem are you trying to solve? Are you needing more customers? Are you needing more employees? Once you have established and asked these questions, you can move forward with producing or contracting out your first video. It’s important to keep in mind exactly what you want to create. DO some market research and see what other competitors are up to. The chances are, it’s working.
Scripting.. Are you going to want to talk in your video? We would highly recommend it. Figuring out scripting or copy is sometimes the hardest part of the process. First you identify the problem at hand, then you reverse engineer it into a script. Example you are having trouble hiring employees. Brainstorm a bunch of good reasons people would want to work for your company. Write them down on a notepad and wrap them into a video and whala, a video fit to have potential employees running through the doors begging to work at your organization.
Paper To Video.. Once you have your ideas and scripting out on paper, it’s time to create. Think about the shots and sequence you want to include. In an employee video think showing employees working, moving boxes around, having a good time, high fiving, smiling. All of these shots can show high company morale and are great reasons anyone would want to join your organization. It’s important to stay on the subject the entire video. Each video serves its own purpose and it’s easy for the message to get mixed up to the mass public
The Final Product.. Once you’ve created the video, show it around and get feedback. In this case, show it to employees and ask how it makes them feel. In a customer question video, go around to a random audience and get real time feedback. Ask them what they like and don’t like. Feedback will be your best friend because it shows exactly what parts of the video are working and what parts aren’t. This directly applies even if you contracted out the video side of things.
So there are many great reasons to utilize video. Viewership remains higher, people retain the actual message, and they won’t easily forget you. It’s important to keep in mind the “Why” so your video has a purpose and isn’t just a bunch of randomness on a timeline.
